Make Ethical Decisions Online Module



The Make Ethical Decisions (MED) module helps coaches identify the legal, ethical, and moral implications of difficult situations that present themselves in the world of sport. 

The Make Ethical Decisions module provides coaches with the opportunity to learn about and test their decision-making skills by walking through a variety of legal and ethical scenarios. Successful completion of the module is necessary to access the Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation in the Locker free of charge.

By successfully completing the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training and NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation, coaches will be fully equipped to handle ethical situations with confidence. The Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation is required to become certified in every context.

Coaches that have attended a Foundations Theory course should not register for this module. If you are unclear whether or not you or your coach has completed the Foundations Theory course, please check the Locker by logging in or by using the Public Transcript lookup page: https://thelocker.coach.ca/access/account/public

Who should complete this module?

Coaches that have been transferred into the updated system of training and have not yet completed the Make Ethical Decisions module. 

  • This module will grant coaches access to the MED online evaluation FREE of charge, with unlimited attempt to pass
  • A coach transcript must first be credited with the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions module before a coach should begin the MED online evaluation
  • Should you not see the credit on your transcript after 30 days, please contact Gymnastics Ontario

Coaches that have NOT completed the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions module:

A fee of $85.00 will apply for coaches who choose to complete the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation without taking the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions module first.

If a coach chooses to proceed directly to the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation without taking any training, they will have two(2) attempts at passing the evaluation.

If, after two(2) attempts, they have not received a passing grade of 75%, the coach will be required to register for NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training.

Please note that coaches are not eligible to receive a refund for the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation in the Locker.

The NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation is not equivalent to the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions module.

Before you proceed to the Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation, please determine whether you require both the training and evaluation

Individuals registered in this course will receive an email with the ZOOM meeting link and detailed instructions a minimum of 24 hours prior to the event. The eLearning materials will be provided to coaches through the online platform. 

Notification of withdrawal or transfer from the course must be received no later than 5 business days prior to the start of the course.  Failure to send notification less than 5 business days prior to the course will result in forfeit of the full course registration fee. 

A valid [unique] personal email should be recorded during the registration process in order to receive all future email communications from Gymnastics Ontario and to gain access to the webinar.

The module is 2.5 hours in length. Coaches must attend the full course to receive course credit. If part or all of a module is missed, the coach will be required to re-register for the full course with no refund option. 

Requirements

  • Coaches will be expected to log on and participate for the full duration of the course at the specific times listed in order to receive full course credit. Plan to connect to the training platform 10 minutes prior to the start of the module.
  • Minimum 15 years of age 
  • Coaches must have a valid GO Membership (coach or CIT). 

Technical Requirements

  • Computer or Laptop is required (no tablets or phones)
  • Microphone/speakers or a headset with speakers
  • Access to the internet (preferably high speed).
