Time: 9am-12pm or 1pm (will depend on the number of athletes registered)
Price: $40/athlete

Purpose:
The purpose of the High Performance (HP) Training Initiative is to provide an opportunity for Ontario HP coaches and athletes to collaborate in a structured, educational training environment designed to enhance technical readiness and performance for the upcoming competitive season. The training will focus on the practical application of the Code of Points (CoP), improvement of body difficulty execution, and the exchange of best coaching practices between clubs and coaches.
Objectives
- To foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among Ontario’s HP coaches and athletes.
- To strengthen technical consistency and performance quality across the province.
- To provide athletes with direct, constructive feedback from qualified Brevet judges.
- To support coach professional development through participation and recognition within the NCCP system (to be confirmed).
- To create a unified provincial approach to HP athlete preparation and program alignment.
In-person collaborative 3-4 hours training at Markham Pan Am Centre
Proposed Schedule:
- Group Warm-Up (Led by one designated coach) or Ballet (led by a designated ballet teacher)
- Dynamic warm-up and mobility routine focused on proper technique and injury prevention.
- Structured ballet warm-up emphasizing posture, alignment, core engagement, and fluid movement. Focuses on preparing the body for technical work through controlled mobility, flexibility, and coordination exercises.
- Technical Development – Body Difficulty Elements
- Focused work on jumps, pivots, balances, and other body difficulties.
- Athletes divided into small groups, rotating through different coaches for targeted corrections and skills.
- Routine Presentation and Feedback
- While the majority of athletes are training on elements, 2–3 athletes at a time will perform their routines (1-2 routines).
- Brevet-level judges will evaluate and provide immediate verbal feedback to athletes.
- Wrap-Up Discussion / Q&A
- Open dialogue among coaches, judges, and athletes to review key takeaways and reinforce learning outcomes.
Coaches
- Participate on a volunteer basis.
- Lead warm-up, oversee technical stations, and provide feedback and support to all participating athletes.
- Share coaching methods and collaborate with peers to align training standards across the province.
Judges:
- Participate on a volunteer basis.
- Provide technical and execution-based feedback during routine presentations.
- Support educational development of coaches and athletes through constructive guidance.
- Participate actively in all segments of the training.
- Apply feedback from judges and coaches to improve technical accuracy and performance quality.
Recognition and Professional Development
- Coaches will receive Certificates of Participation acknowledging their contribution.
- Participating coaches may be eligible to receive NCCP Professional Development (PD) points applicable toward their ongoing certification maintenance (to be confirmed).
- The event will also serve as a networking and mentorship opportunity for Ontario’s HP coaching community.
- Enhanced technical proficiency and consistency among HP athletes in the province.
- Strengthened collaboration between Ontario clubs and coaches.
- Improved understanding of current judging expectations and CoP application.
- Greater alignment between athlete performance and national/international standards
The Ontario High Performance Training Initiative is an educational and collaborative event designed to elevate the standard of rhythmic gymnastics across the province. By combining the expertise of Ontario’s leading coaches, judges, and athletes, this initiative will promote excellence, consistency, and preparedness for the upcoming competitive season — while fostering a stronger, more unified HP community.
